Mental - Students will be taught how and when to use mental math techniques. This allows them to do away with needless paper–and–pencil work and focus on the task at hand.
Verbal - Students will learn the meaning of root words in the mathematics context. They will also be taught how to explain their thought process and reasoning verbally.
Visual – The tutors of Mathnasium will make use of meaningful, relevant pictures, charts, and tables to explain ideas and concepts. Workbooks will be given to students and these are all “picture–based”; as such, they will provide students with insights into problems that transcend the written words.
Tactile - When appropriate or necessary, manipulatives will be used to introduce, explain, and/or reinforce concepts and skills. However, the transfer of knowledge from manipulatives to other aspects of learning is carefully monitored.
