Mathnasium – The Math Specialists For Students Of All Ages

Students do not hate math. They are rather being intimidated and confused by math. And this is where math specialists like Mathnasium come into play.

About Mathnasium

35 years ago, Larry Martinek was inspired to find a way to teach children math. As a consultant in both public and private schools and a father to a mathematically gifted son, he possessed an incredible in-depth view of education. Inspired by the challenges in math education, he decided to find an approach which would provide grade-school children with a very strong mathematical foundation they must succeed.

For the next 30 years, he developed a blend of methods as well as materials which are proven very efficient at teaching various math concepts to students of all ages. Instead of just relying on memorization and repetitive exercises, his work focused much on helping kids build deep mathematical understanding by getting them to think like Mathematicians and enhancing their math instincts.

He introduced his curriculum as the Mathnasium Method. And students of all ages have proven that such curriculum is both engaging and powerful. The hallmark of this program has been the way it engages children and gets them to know math at a level far beyond adult expectations.

More Info About The Mathnasium Method

Evaluate – Students will be given a 2-part diagnostic test. The first is a written test meant to assess the weakness of the students in terms of grade-level material. The second part is comprised of oral questions, which will determine his or her depth of understanding of important math skills and concepts.

Educate – They use the results of their assessment to come up with an appropriate learning plan. Students will receive one-on-one guidance from a reliable Mathnasium math tutor if they visit the center. Written materials and mental math are the primary focuses of the curriculum.

Validate – After 10 sessions, they will reassess your child. They’ll provide you with quantitative improvement results. Still, they rely on 3rd party proofs of progress, which include standardized assessments and report cards from your kid’s school.

Why They Are The Best

  • They make use of a proprietary curriculum, which is proven to address core mathematical topics.
  • Their tutors are trained and certified in the Mathnasium method. They don’t just alleviate the symptom but rather bridge the gaps in understanding what created the difficulties in the very first place.
  • Mathnasium goes one step beyond. Moreover, they don’t just address current issues but likewise makes sure that all the required skills are being worked towards the overall development of kid’s talent.
